Vegetable beef soup All measurements are approximate. Mom
Ingredients:

Soup bone, shank bone, short ribs or any combination.
1/2 half head cabbage
1 sweet green sweet pepper
1 sweet pepper - different color
4 mediium onions
3 carrots
1/2 pound green beans
1/4 to 1/2 pound okra
1 10 ounce package frozen corn
1 10 ounce package baby lima beans
1/4 cup medium barley
16 ounces tomato juice
3 large ribs celery
1 tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon each celery seed &mustard seed
2 cloves crushed garlic or equivalent
Pepper to taste

Preparation:

Wash bones & bring to boil in 8 quarts water. Skim foam as water comes to boil. Simmer for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Add seasonings & chopped vegetables except corn, lima beans & tomato juice. When cabbage is not quite tender, add lima beans. Cook for another 15 minutes. Add corn & tomato juice. Cook another 6 to 8 minutes.
